Earlier this week, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell introduced a bill that could change the hemp industry forever. It would remove hemp from the controlled substance list and refine it as a commodity crop. Thus giving farmers access to United States Department of Agriculture research funding as well as crop insurance.
Economically, this transition will provide numerous job opportunities. More jobs means more circulating money means happier families.
Environmentally, this is a step forward for renewable resources. Hemp has the potential to reinvent consumer products in a sustainable manner. In doing so, will lessen pollutants and heighten air quality world wide.
