Auto Flower

Auto Flower Hemp

Auto Flower hemp is a great option for beginner growers or farmers who want their plants to flower and be ready to harvest as early as possible. These varietals are relatively easy to grow and can be harvested multiple times in one season in some environments.

Auto Flower is usually planted closer together than most other varietals due to the size of the plant and the need to shade out weeds before a canopy grows. In order to flower, most cannabinoid hemp requires a specific photoperiod, or ratio of light to dark hours. However, Auto hemp waste no time quickly transitioning from vegetative growth to the flowering stage at a specific age.

AUTO FLOWER HEMP FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Auto Flower and how do I plant it?

Auto Flower hemp is a CBD varietal that does not depend on daylight to trigger flowering. Plants will mature based on a cumulative number of days from the time it is first watered. Autos are predictable in the sense that you can mark your calendar with near certainty thanks to the set number of days between germination and a completed flowering cycle regardless of most climates or location.

Auto Flower varieties tend to require some planning the first time around. Understanding that soil and watering needs differ from other types of hemp will be essential in keeping your crop healthy. Because not all Auto Flower varietals are identical, the team at iHEMPx is happy to inform you on the varying breeder recommendations for each varietal.

On average the growing cycle for autos is between 2-3 month. Due to the short growing cycle, we don’t recommend transplanting your autos if growing in pots. Moving plants from one growing environment to another can cause stress or damage to the roots if not done properly. Plants may not have sufficient time to recover. We do however recommend moving plants closer together to create a strong canopy, meaning you will need more seeds than you would for other photoperiod types of hemp. If you are growing outdoors, plan to plant closer together so your autos will not have to compete with weeds for water and soil nutrients.

Which varietals are compliant?

All varietals offered through iHEMPx are compliant with the established US federal regulations below 0.3%. Many of our varietals yield high levels of CBD and minimal levels of THC making them internationally compliant as well. All of our varietals are rigorously tested before being put on the market. COAs are available for each varietal.

Should I buy seeds or starts?

We offer both seeds and starts for most varietals. Seeds are available year round, and starts can be pre-ordered and scheduled for delivery when you need them. Depending on your preferences and cultivation environment you may want one or both.  Due to the nature of the short growing cycle, we recommend Auto Flower seeds over starts.

When deciding between seeds and starts it is important to consider your timeline and setup. Purchasing starts guarantees germination of your plant and require less time in the ground. Seeds are less expensive, have a long shelf life and can be started indoors with a controlled atmosphere.
